In the very first episode of The Ezra Lipp Hour (More or Less), I speak with guitarist, singer and multi-instrumentalist Dan "Lebo" Lebowitz. Lebo is best known as the guitarist and co-founder of the Bay Area based rock/jam band Animal Liberation Orchestra (ALO) but he is also an accomplished and ubiquitous side man having performed with a slew of incredible artists and bands including Jack Johnson, Phil Lesh & Friends, Melvin Seals, Brokedown in Bakersfield, Brett Dennen, Bill Kreutzmann, Steve Kimock and many more. He also has his own band Lebo & Friends.
In the first part of this conversation (Part 2 will be a little down the road) we speak of the roots of his musical journey including the formation of ALO with childhood friends Zach Gill and Steve Adams in junior high. We trace Lebo's life trajectory of friendship and music and the different paths took and lessons learned to get to where Lebo is now in his career. We also discuss the unifying links between Donald Trump, Jesus, Hitler and James Brown. Please enjoy!
